Some of you might already know this about me, but I love the Academy Awards. I love the time of season when all the Oscar bait comes out, love seeing the movies and trying to figure out which films and performances are worthy of a gold statuette. Love reading all the other predictions and coming up with my own list of nominations (I’d say I get at least 90 percent right). And then, of course, picking who will win on Oscar’s big night (I’m hit or miss, but I do try not to let who I WANT to win interfere with who WILL win).
This year is already shaping up with strong contenders. I did a Oscar 2010 preview piece for Fandango.com, which gives you a jump start on some of the potentials. George Clooney’s Up in the Air seems to be a favorite as is this summer’s The Hurt Locker. But I’ll get more in depth here at TheMovieKit as the award season starts to heat up. Stay tuned!
