How to Find Movie Clips

This is kinda cool. Go to this brand new site just launched yesterday called Movieclips.com. It’s set up very much like Hulu.com, and, according the Hollywood Reporter, you can search for over 12,000 free two-minute movie clips, from all kinds of movies. The folks who thought up this brainchild have deals in place with Fox, MGM, Paramount, Sony, Universal and Warner Bros. I’m liking the idea.

“Movieclips.com was created by movie fans for movie fans,” co-founder and CEO Zach James told the Reporter. “Our goal was to build a place where we could easily find, watch and share all the best movie scenes. It’s pretty cool to be able to send a clip from Sixteen Candles to my sister on her birthday or a Wayne’s World ‘Party on!’ clip to my friends on a Friday night.”

Right. Of course, you can get a lot of the same stuff on YouTube, plus a whole lot more. I mean, I’ve found clips from just about every movie I can think of on YouTube. But then again, it would be more convenient to go to a new site more tied into the studios to find your favorite movie moments. It’s only in beta form now, so you can’t embed clips quite yet, but I’ll keep checking back.
