Herd them into a makeshift ghetto called District 9, seal them off from human contact — but don’t let them leave. That’s the premise of the new sci-fi thriller District 9, in which an alien race lands on our planet and is treated horribly by the humans. Shot like a documentary, a la Cloverfield, the aliens decide to fight back, judging from this new trailer:
Well, duh. Of course they are going to fight back. They are ALIENS, after all, far superior to us but obviously not that aggressive unless provoked. Looks like a very skewed E.T. (“Phone home!”) and way cool. Opens in theaters Aug. 14.
