Get Peter Morgan to do it. The British screenwriter – who has given us such stellar efforts as The Last King of Scotland, The Queen and most recently, Frost/Nixon – has been recently hired by Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli to spin his particular brilliance on 007 adventure number 23.
According to Cinematical, Morgan won’t be doing it alone but will work with Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, writers on both the Quantum of Solace and Casino Royale. Off the list, however, is Paul Haggis, who also had a hand in Quantum‘s dialogue and, some say, may have ruined the film. I’m not sure why Quantum gets the bad rap that it does. I thought it was pretty damn exciting. Here, watch this and see if you don’t agree:
Also off the list, at least for now, is Danny Boyle as a potential director. There were rumors he was offered the job, which were then squashed by the Slumdog himself in an email to EW. Oh well. He would have added something different to the proceedings.
